The responsibilites of the various TA roles are roughly as follows:
Graders: are responsible for grading all tests and homework sets for the classes (usually multiple sections of the same course) to which they are assigned, including the final exam.
Lecture Assistants: act as grader for the class to which they are assigned. In addition, they are responsible for taking attendence during lecture as well as hold weekly office hours. Finally, they assist students for a certain number of hours each week in the Math Multimedia Center (MMC): .
Recitation Leaders: act as Lecture Assistant for the class to which they are assigned with the exception of assisting students in the MMC. In addition, they are responsible for leading a weekly class dedicated to problem solving and working examples related to recently covered material in the course to which they are assigned.
Instructors: are responsible for the day to day administration of the course including lesson planning, lecturing, writing tests, holding office hours, and reporting final grades, attendence, ect. to the department as needed.
